Our highly trained speakers are energetic, creative and love to interact
with students. They are trained by nationally certified relationship
educators.
Hi, my name is Mechele LaBrie and I am the Program Director of Worth the Wait. The highlight of my day is when I get to read all the comments from the students who attend our classes.
When students are given the right information and tools we see positive choices and outcomes!
We are here to help you. If you have any questions simply e-mail me at
I would like to introduce you to the heart of Worth the Wait, our speakers!
Hello my name is Morgan Peterson.
I am one of the Worth the Wait speakers and I love my job! I feel like speaking to the students about relationships gives me a purpose in life while also affording me the opportunity to aid in changing the outcome of their lives by guiding them into a more successful destiny.
I enjoy riding and training my horses, spending time with my many other animals, hiking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
My name is CarlHackney. I enjoy hanging out with and mentoring teens.
I was born near and raised in Ennis, Texas and I'm in my 40's. Worked and lived “fast” until I turned 30 years old when I "finally stopped being stupid".
I've lived in Reno twice before. The first time, I moved out here with my girlfriend and we had a baby girl that we gave for adoption. It was a closed adoption, so we could not know who adopted her or where they lived.
I'm married to Denise and we have a daughter, Haylee.
In December of 2005, I got a letter in the mail that changed my life! It was information about my daughter I had given for adoption back in 1987. Her name is Julie and she grew up in Las Vegas. Denise and I got to fly down and meet her for the first time the following month. She was raised by a wonderful mom and dad and tormented by her older brother. We have visited with Julie and her family many times since and plan on more.
My name is Gideon Mukwai. I am originally from Cameroon in Central Africa. I have been a trainer and facilitator for over 10 years. I am the author of "Facing Adversity with Audacity: Thriving in Odds, Obstacles and Opportunities", published in September 2008.
I specialize in emergency preparedness, safety and communication training. I was a senior fire officer with the Singapore Civil Defense Force and have directed local training programs for officer cadets from police, fire, navy and EMS.
In my spare time I enjoy writing, performing poetry and meeting up with new friends for coffee at Borders Bookshop.
My name is Jeannie. I married my high school sweetheart at the age of eighteen. My husband is an engineer, and I have a teaching degree. Twenty-one years later we have two teen-age daughters.
When I get to speak at the high schools I enjoy chatting with the teens. A common topic they bring up is how to deal with conflict. The students find it surprising that conflict can lead to a greater understanding of another person.
As you can see by the picture, we are definitely Pittsburgh Steelers fans. The girls and I also enjoy swimming, while my husband enjoys hiking and biking. So as a family we enjoy all three outdoor activities.
